What is RSS/ATOM?
RSS/ATOM are XML-based technologies that were developed to retrieve information from the internet easily and automatically. Instead of spending time everyday checking each interesting website for news yourself, you can use RSS/ATOM to stay informed of all changes and news from your favourite sites.
How does RSS/ATOM work?
Basically, there are two ways. One is to install the RSS/ATOM reader software separately, and then create a link to the RSS/ATOM feeds of your favourite websites. The software will access your chosen pages at a configurable interval and inform you of possible news. You can access a list of the most popular RSS readers here: RSS readers
The other way is to use the integrated RSS/ATOM reader of your web browser. Most recent browsers, such as Mozilla Firefox 2, provide the option to process RSS/ATOM.
